I just came back from a trip out west to help my daughter, Gina with her new baby. This is her 3rd child, a boy. As we all know babies are so beautiful and precious.
Gina recently worked at a nursing facility. One of the days we were there she wanted to take her week old baby to the home so her favorite residents could see and touch the new baby they knew she had been expecting.
When we arrived, many of them were seated around a table since another employee was having a baby shower. When Gina walked in with her new baby, it was so touching to see how these older women, some clearly in their 90's responded when seeing the little one. You could see in their eyes and even in their hands the instant longing and maternal love women are so known for when it comes to babies. It doesn't matter how old we are, we still have the love and longing to touch and see little children. It never dies in most of us.
