How Men Choose The Woman They're Going To Marry - An Article Analysis

Richard Forsyth

An Analysis of an Article on YourTango.com titled The Truth About How Men Choose The Woman They're Going To Marry, by James Allen Hanrahan

This article from YourTango.com is kind of interesting but I found it so superficial that I had to break it down to understand what exactly the writer was saying. At first, after telling you a man might remember you fondly after sleeping with you twice a day, he then says sex has little or nothing to do with his desire to marry you. That’s pretty amazing, isn’t it?

Then he says, “We marry women who can make us better men.” This is contradictory since having sex outside of marriage is always a high-risk behavior. It compromises us physically and exposes us to potentially ending up with a broken heart, a possible pregnancy or even a sexually transmitted disease. We tend to fall into this trap because we confuse romance with sex far more than men do. Men often see sex as an end in and of itself. Yet, the writer doesn’t even suggest that women will likely be marginalized with premarital sex, but implies that he wants to be a better man.

Then, the author says that, for men, real romance begins when he notices how you take care of his car and his house. What I think the writer means  is that you demonstrate you actually care for him and are also reasonably mature. Then it states that the man begins to care how your car looks and whether it has gasoline in it or not. To me that means he’s beginning to realize he has feelings for you that are beyond just physical desire. Surely there’s more it than taking care of each other’s’ cars and houses.

Then the article says there is nothing you can do to make the relationship happen:  but states, “However, you can allow it to happen.”

You might not be able to “make” it happen, but there is a lot a feminine woman can do to influence a man. Fascinating Womanhood principles speak to the heart of this matter rather than just superficially.

The next thing it says is you must demonstrate that you love yourself or, have self-respect. Okay. You need to sort yourself out before you can build a relationship foundation. Once you do though, you probably won’t be sleeping with him casually and without thinking through to the consequences.

Men are attracted to, and always have been attracted to, feminine women who understand them, accept them, admire them and need them. They also need women who have enough self-esteem to not just hop in bed with any guy that comes along. Men want to respect us and it is up to us to protect ourselves from being used and taken for granted.

Men thrive when they are with a woman who influences them to become better men. The principles of Fascinating Womanhood are perfect to help women reclaim femininity, inspire masculinity and do their part to create a lifelong love affair.

Who wouldn’t want this? We all do! To be married to someone who adores you your whole life and who you adore in return, is truly one of life’s greatest joys.
